How does GradingPrep's card grading prep work?

GradingPrep runs a four-step mail-in workflow. First, ship your cards to us with any carrier that offers tracking and insurance. Second, within 48 hours of receipt we evaluate every card under magnification, clean it, sleeve it in an archival Card Saver I, and return an honest grade prediction. Third, once you approve which cards to submit and at what service level, we handle all paperwork and send them to PSA, BGS, SGC, or CGC. Fourth, when grading completes, the slabs ship back to you with return tracking.

What does grading prep cost?

Prep is $10 per card with no minimums. Volume discounts stack automatically based on cards sent over the last 12 months: 10% off at 250+ cards, 20% off at 500+, and 30% off at 1,000+.

Which grading companies does GradingPrep submit to?

GradingPrep submits to PSA, BGS (Beckett), SGC, and CGC. Customers pick the grading company and service level after we send back our evaluation report.

What's included in the $10 per card prep fee?

Every prep order includes precision cleaning and polish, surface evaluation under magnification, an expert grade prediction with subgrade estimates for BGS submissions, archival-quality Card Saver I sleeving, white-glove handling, and a live status dashboard so you can track each card in real time.

How long does the prep evaluation take?

We evaluate your cards within 48 hours of receiving your shipment. After evaluation, turnaround to the grading company depends on the service level you select (Economy, Value, Regular, Express, etc.).

Do I pay the grading company fees too?

Yes. Customers pay grading company fees (PSA, BGS, SGC, or CGC) directly, plus a $1 per card data entry fee to GradingPrep for submission handling. Prep fees ($10/card) are separate and cover the evaluation, cleaning, sleeving, and grade prediction work.
